Hey, you biceps, triceps, lats and traps injecters!
Quick question for you: How do you aspirate in these places? For example, if you are injecting into your right triceps, how do you hold the needle with one hand and manage to inject, aspirate and plunge without shaking the needle all over the place?

I don't remember when the last time I aspirated was.
Yes I did inject my sack to win free shit.

That's kinda what I figured, too. I used to be obsessive about it, but I'm not sure how important it really is. Are you still dating that nurse? Just curious whether she thinks it's important and/or does it when she gives shots.

I aspirate when I do my bis and tris. I don't know "how" I do it...I guess I have a steady hand after being on HRT since I was young.
I did my first trap shot last week and didn't aspirate...well actually I did, but being that it was in my trap, I couldn't look down to see if there was a blood flash, lol. It went fine though.

Although I dont shoot those area's, I always aspirate with the same hand I pin with. I use my thumb to aspirate it a little, not that hard, just takes some practice.

I just pinch the plunger, if that makes sense. Yeah, I wiggle around a bit, but it doesn't bother me. I actually move around a good bit, doesn't bother me though.

I've been using 1", 23g everywhere with no probs.
I guess w/my larger gauge I prob don't have to be quite as steady since I don't have to apply as much force to push the plunger. I've used 25's before, but I felt that the slightly less 'bite' I was getting from the needle insert was offset by the fact that the needle was in there longer (and moving around more) than if I just opted for a larger needle and put it in and get it out.
That's my broscience theory anyways....Last edited by Dre23; 04-19-2012 at 02:29 PM.

i never aspirated when in the hard to reach areas. i just went deep into the muscle and all was good. im not claiming that it was a great idea, its just what i did for years when doing multiple injects daily.
