Interesting. I use protein factory's native whey isolate. Maybe I will go back to Optimum after reading this...

Maybe? Does it cost that much less that you would continue using it after reading this?

    ON is the best.

The native whey isolate costs about the same as Optimum's premium hydrowhey protein...so no, I wasn't taking it to save money, but because I wanted whey protein that is high in undenatured proteins and whey growth factors.

If this company was really doing this, they deserve to be shut down. I feel bad for the companies involved, at the same time I would still take responsibility for working a sub-standard organization too.

Here is the actual FDA letter:

    http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/Enforcement.../ucm299891.htm

Looks like it is basically all the proteinfactory.com products, since it all gets manufactured at that facility, as far as I know.

During the inspection, you informed our investigator that you intended to correct these violations by telling your employees "not to hit the bottom of the pot with the mixer." This proposed corrective action will not sufficiently protect against contamination.
lol...wow, sounds like a real shitty operation they are running, if you read through the entire letter listing all of the violations. Ok, after reading the full letter I am definitely not buying their stuff anymore.

Doesn't surprise me at all...will switch back to Optimum since I know their products have passed plenty of purity tests in the past.

Certain people portray governmental agencies as wasteful spending, but this is a good example of how administrative oversight can protect the consumer. It would be great if supplement companies voluntarily submitted their products for 3rd-party purity tests, but in the absence of that, I hope the FDA continues to conduct these inspections.
