    Default Test prop clearance question

How long does it take for test levels to return to the normal (or below normal) range after you stop taking test prop, assuming (1) you take 100mg every other day (350mg/wk) or (2) you take 75mg every day (525mg/wk)?

The reason I ask is that I might have to get blood tests as part of a routine physical on short notice. This is not a drug test, so I am not worried about residual levels of synthetic T in the blood. Rather, I just want to know when T levels will be in the normal range OR LOWER (I am not asking when T levels will rebound if they drop after stopping). I am concerned that if my test levels are off the charts, it will raise questions I would rather not have to answer.

if its a routine physical, they arent going to test for test. period.

For the sale of this thread, let's assume they do. I'm curious about how long it would take.

I'm no math major, but you could probably figure this out with Excel using the following function: H = (2^-1/a)x where s is the half-life of T prop, x is the number of days you are counting and H is the ending concentration. I would just assume x=1 for simplicity, so that if inject on day 0, H will equal the amount in your system on Day 1 (i.e., the next day). On every day thereafter, we can use the formula Ly = E + Iy to figure out the blood concentration level on that day, where y is the day in question, and I is the amount injected. If you inject 100mg EOD, then Iy=100 on even number days and Iy=0 on odd number days. I can't do all of the calculation for you because I don't know the half-life of T prop, but even so, we know from this formula that blood concentration levels will go up for the first few weeks you take the drug. After a certain point, the concentration will level off. Once you figure that out, you continue to use the same formula, but assume that no additional T prop is injected—in other words Iy=0 on all days. Let's call the last day you inject Day S. Once Ly = top of normal range for test, you just count the number of days since Day S to get your answer.

Caveat: this assumes that the concentration of T prop is equal the blood concentration of total T on a blood test. In other words, it assumes that if you have 100mg of T prop in your system, then total T on your blood test would be 100mg. I'm not sure that's how it works, though.
