It is official! Derek Poundstone contacted me this morning to confirm the Date of Bros vs Pros 11 at his brand new gym Poundstone Performance http://www.poundstoneperformance.com/ on Sunday July 1st, the day after the Hartford Europa. We will be spending two days in Hartford with our good friends Ed and Betty Pariso at their 2nd show of the year and then making the 30 minute drive to Waterbury for Bros vs Pros 11!
This Bros vs Pros will be a deadlift event. Remember back to Chicago at Bros vs Pros IX when Derek Poundstone suffered a back injury in training and could not compete. Mark Lyrch came from Long Island, NY and dominated the event with 37 grueling reps. Derek vowed to hold an event at his gym and fly Mark in to see who really is the best deadlifter. Well that time has come...
More information as we finalize details, but the date is set! Sunday July 1, 2012. Waterbury, CT at Poundstone Performance!
AND SPONSORING THE 1 REP MAX FOR $1000 PRIZE:

Got some fantastic news from Poundstone Performance today. With the Assistance of the Connecticut Special Olympics, we will have as our very special guests, several athletes who compete in the Special Olympics. They will be there to give us an idea of what its like to participate in the Special Olympics as well as the dedication it takes to lift at such an elite level.
I am in the works putting a HUGE prize package together that we will raffle off with all of the proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.
We are also for the first time working on putting a nice cash prize together for the 1-Rep max Deadlift which looks like it will be sponsored by a pretty big name in the bodybuilding and weightlifting community.
This event looks to keep growing and growing. The list of IFBB and NPC folks keeps getting bigger. Some new names, some old names and some names... you won't believe!
