Gold's Classic Light Heavyweight 2nd Place
Hey guys,
Competed yesterday and took 2nd in the novice light heavies at the NPC Gold's Classic. I also did the open and it was tough, tough class. There were 20 guys and some of which were getting ready for Nationals. Based on the callouts I placed around 6th. Phil (Provo) was there and he had me winning the novice light heavy and overall hands down. IMO the winner's conditioning was pretty bad. But what can you do....Feedback I got from Phil was more low and mid back thickness, back width, hamstrings, and conditioning in the back. Here are some pics. Once I have some comparison pics, I will post those as well. Please let me know what I need to do to improve. I ended up being 21 pounds heavier than my last show exactly one year ago. Thanks!

Congrats on the 2nd.. 21 pounds in a year is a serious gain.. I can see I'm in for a rough time in our little contest...
I agree with Phil.. bring that back up and you'll kill them

You looked excellent sir! Crazy delts/ chest/quads. 21 pounds is outrageous! What would you say the biggest factors to your improvments were? Also: your color is outstanding, what did you use?

That is alot to add to your stage weight. Great work!! I agree with the weak point but as far as what I see here you could be tighter esp in the lower body. Look great though man, congrats!

Congrats !! Was this Jersey Golds Classic ? Overall you look good . Just continue to progress everywhere , like you did this past year . For this show in particular I agree with the assessment; back and legs need to come up . Body fat wise , your conditioning was fine for a novice competitor but you need more detail and could be a bit drier . 2nd is a great placing ..

Wow 21lbs is impressive. Do you have a comparison pic of the last show to compare that huge difference?

Thanks Steve! If I would have known you were there I would have introduced myself. I actually used three coats of good old fashioned pro tan and two coats of pro tan's new walnut, ultra dark. My wife is an expert at putting it on. She uses a staining bad and just rubs it on. It literally takes less than ten minutes per coat.

Thanks for the critique....All excellent points. Yes, it was the NJ Gold's. In years past I have ended up being flat. I was afraid of it happening again for fear of being the smallest guy in the next weight class up. As a result, my conditioning obviously suffered. I also did not take any diuretic, even OTC.
