Bodybuilding slammed today on Gawker
http://gawker.com/5912393/bodybuilders-are-weird
A terrible write-up on bodybuilding. The comments section is even worse. Chime in on Gawker and stand up for the sport!

I could not care less what this dude thinks. I love how people attempt to define "what is a bodybuilder?" When the person knows nothing about the sport/lifestyle besides the stuff on the cover, and is quoting one bodybuilding hating powerlifter. "Mark Rippetoe is the owner, janitor and general manager of Wichita Falls Athletic Club, CrossFit Wichita Falls and Performance Sports Conditioning"
I think mark likes cleaning poop more than bodybuilding and steroids.

Ok...the only real point he made in this little blurb was that bodybuilding is weird and freaky. Yes? I think everybody, including us bodybuilders, already knows this. Nothing earth shattering here.
Of course he focused only on bodybuilding's weirdness and a couple of other negative aspects, but could find nothing positive at all....fair enough. If you don't like it, don't do it. But obviously plenty of other people find lots of meaning and enjoyment in the pursuit.

Wow, full of people who just don't understand anything and think because someone who lives by a lifestyle or does something means everything that happens to him is because of it.

I've never heard of it. So I don't know what to say other than should I really give a fuck? BB gets slammed everywhere not just some stupid blog/site that I've never even heard of. Who cares what people think. If I sat here and gave a shit what people thought of me I'd be at my psychiatrist every day instead of once a month. Let people be ignorant. I'll continue to be happy with myself and bodybuilding as a whole.

My feeling is...if your weird lifestyle isn't negatively affecting me or lots of other people in some sort of way, then I don't really give a fuck what you want to do with your time. Live and let live. I also would hope that others have the same mindset, but they often don't.
It makes sense to me to not care too much about what others are doing unless they are really bothering/hurting me in the process. I mean yea, if I see a weird guy walking down the street I might laugh and have some momentary entertainment, but I'm going to then go about my day and forget about it. So when someone really goes out of their way to bash or portray the lifestyle/hobbies of others in such a negative light...like in this article...in my experience, it comes down to some sort of jealousy or resentment scenario. This guy is/was jealous of bodybuilders, or he resents them, perhaps due to a negative experience he had in the past. And he can't get over it.
That, or he's just running out of material for shitty articles.

Gawker rhymes with cocker. And I'm not going to get my news source that sounds like a nickname for a phallus or something.

The article is just hearsay, dotted with childish slander. The staff of Gawker are more interested in the opinion of mainstream media outlets than putting forward a relevant captivating article. They are just a bunch of smart-asses who look to infuriate people to grab attention. (Attention whores).
If only they had some journalistic integrity about themselves to ask an industry insider for the dirt on bodybuilding, imagine the Pandora's box that would have opened.
Dan Hill, gay for pay, Craig Titus ...........there's enough there to captivate the minds of the ignorant masses and provide the idiots with stupid questions to ask us when they find out we are bodybuilders, just like the first question I get asked now "did you see the man who's arms exploded".
This is the trouble with the internet and fucking idiots. Almost any fucker can get on here and make shit up, the author probably googled bodybuilding and searched in sequence typing the following words/ steriotypes, Steroids, gay, Stupid, Babyfood ect.
I have no problem taking the piss(bagging out in Aussie speak) but back it up for fuck sake, give it some punch

I don't care about what other people say. I enjoy bodybuilding for me.
