All Kinds of New! ~ Newly married, New last name, New gym!
“I Do! Vegas Style Baby!”
Rather than attempt to describe every moment, I’ll summarize and let some pictures tell the tale. Bossman & I flew out to Vegas on Sat Sept 5th, had some fun time for 1.5 days, got married on Mon Sept 7th, celebrated my birthday on the 8th and flew back to G.R. on the 9th. Our suite at the Signature was very nice and the staff friendly and attentive. We had some good food & drink. We saw lots of spectacle. We saw Penn & Teller (at the Rio), a provocative & funny show. Our wedding day was relaxed (we were playing blackjack up until an hour before my hair appointment!) The wedding itself was sweet and happy! Our wedding supper at Hugo’s Cellar was very tasty! Beef Wellington all the way. We played blackjack up on Freemont a few times and came out $40 bucks ahead! There was no stress, there were no problems, and nothing to be disappointed about. We wished we could have had at least one more day to play. You know how it goes! It always takes a couple days to relax on vacation. But in this case our mini-vacation had purpose and a big scheduled event We are definitely looking forward to a winter vacation/official honeymoon in Mexico come January where we can truly relax.
New Gym! ~ If you can believe it we joined the YMCA! Long story short our old gym has new management making changes that are alienating and highly un-supportive to anyone who trains seriously…think “Planet Fitness” mentality. It is shocking how quickly these changes took place and very disappointing as we have been members for almost 4 years. Ironically, nothing has happened to C or me, but many gym mates reported directly to us what was going on. C and I had not been back to the gym since the first incidents occurred. In my world everything happens for a reason. In this case the timing prompted a much needed change to save time, mileage & money! It has also refreshed our enthusiasm/excitement for training, giving us new spaces, new equipment and new faces. We have the ability to train at 7 different facilities, including a state of the art facility opening in Dec! How very cool!
Training Goals? ~ None really. I have had an inadvertent lay off here and there on various body parts, just because our schedules have been all over the place. I’d have to say it’s probably a good thing to get those “breaks” now and again. It allows for things to recover and heal as well as to “re-set the mind set!”
I’ve also backed off my cardio to about 4x’s a week. Partially just to give it a rest, partially because I am just not motivated…lol. It was toooo easy to give up those early morning sessions! I no like getting too cushy in the tushy! But I know I will get right back in the swing of things come the end of November, when I kick in a mini-cut to get swimsuit ready for Mexico. A “mini-cut” = a little more cardio + a little more food “structure” + less “free” food during the work week = drop a couple pounds & look tighter! It is also a “primer” for my official prep come late January/early February.
2016? - For myself, not a clue yet. Bossman, despite having a love/hate result at the 2015 Team U, has decided to go for it again in 2016 (He is in the 2015 NPC Magazine for the 2014 shows!) I will prep (starting 6-8 weeks before) with him and choose something close to Team U time. I am really hoping we can do an out-of-state show together. Yup. Prolly sticking with the NPC knowing/accepting I have limitations based on where I draw the line. Yes, I love being competitive and love getting hardware…but choosing not to compete this year showed me above all else that I love the process, I love the journey and this is my lifestyle! And I am excited! I know underneath my fluff I have made some very cool improvements over the past year and it will be exciting to see what’s really going on there.

She Lives!!!...and eats and trains and goes to work and does laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning, housework...and has you know... let the erry day life take over a bit. I sneak over and stalk a little bit to see who's doing what.
With the Bossman sick many a week (Going on week 6 but finally recovering from cold, flu...pneumonia!) training has been wonky but still pretty consistent for me. Numbers are going up...and I do think there is a correlation there to the gym switch. Fresh, new space & equipment = new motivation.
This weekend is the second big-to-do in our life this year...Bossman's only daughter is getting married. I even made an appointment to get my hair did. Have to look good for the formal photos.
I cannot believe how quickly this fall has flown by! Thanksgiving already?! I can say I am very thankful and feel blessed with so much everyday...even when the day is a challenge. I hope you too are feeling blessed and thankful and have much to celebrate this coming holiday season.
