Ambien works pretty damn well for me, just leaves me fright in the morning. As far as OTC stuff...there's nothing that works like Ambien, or any prescription sleep aid for that matter. Not even remotely close. I'm prescribed trazodone, it works great, and I also rotate some others in so I don't get used to any one if them...seroquel, valium, temazepam, lorazepam, xanax, flexeril, baclofen, benadryl, weed...lol. Seriously though, your best bet as far as OTC is high dose benadryl combined with some GABA and melatonin. That should do it, but if you're used to Ambien it probably won't work too well.

~ Ok, not OTC stuff but I've had sleeping problems for a loooooooooooong time as well as migraines and was prescribed Amitriptyline for the migraines and I cannot believe the difference it has made!! Double bonus it knocks me out for a good nights sleep every time I take it and clears away any on coming migraines in one fell swoop!! If you can give it a try!! ~

This stuff made me sleep like a rock on planet mars. My bosses are gonna be mad I claimed I used this but this stuff is incredible if you want to get a good nights sleep in REM world. I woke up and can barely remember going to the bathroom. It was like a dream. 8 hours of blissful sleep. I have to recommend this to anyone that has insomnia and when you're on gear we get that.

thats funny. i was reading before i left my similar comment. years ago at the ugly end of my first marriage i was sleeping about 15 scattered hours per week so i got that stuff from a doc and i thought it worked well until my mother told me i called her in the middle of the night about a frog stuffed animal my niece left at my house earlier. then i decided i really need to lay down and force myself to stay there. a fairly short time later i swiped a parked car while i was parking at the 7-11 and dont even remember it. that was the end of sleeping pills for me.

Lmao....thats funny...well kinda....issue with ambien is if you have had any longterm drug or alcohol use then it can effect you...and thats about everyone on tbis board....way too many wierd things and unknowns with ambien for me....temazepam works better.for me anyway...i sleep like a brick...

Lol that sucks it went that way for you Joe, but its pretty damn funny looking at it in retrospect. Ambien is strange stuff...I've done all kinds of strange shit when I was on it because I didn't go to sleep immediately. I like restoril (temazepam), but I'm prescribed trazodone and I'm really happy with it. My problem with sleep is that I think too much, and traz works wonders for calming your mind. It's also a mild anti-anxiety, which helps me too because I'm far too aggressive.

On my first tren cycle I tried everything over the counter and nothing worked till I got a script for Ativan, one year later and I finally got off it lol Now I take Syraquil or Trazodone and sleep like a baby. Trazodone takes 20 min and I cant hold my eyes open, very strong

this is actually a legal OTC but works better than anything I've taken. Never taken ambien or the other stuff being discussed in this thread though
it's called Fusion Shut-Eye. And no I am not a company rep or anything. In fact I just took a serving 20 minutes ago and I'm about to pass out
