Eds133's first prep for Men's Physique
Thought starting a log here would really help these last few weeks. Seen a lot of great logs in here and just wanted to throw mine into the ring.
I am prepping for my first contest right now under the guidance of Shelby Starnes. I started the prep at 215 (fat ass) and am sitting at around 184 right now.
This has been by far the most challenging thing I have done, but also the most rewarding.. these last couple weeks have been rough especially since it is my first time.
I will try to update this log each evening/morning. I am extremely excited to do my first show and can't wait for it to get here.. about to knock out some more cardio now.

Just finished 45 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. Up to 2 hours per day now... It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am getting used to being a hamster on a hamster wheel!
Will finish the rest of the cardio before i go to bed tonight... After work I am going to go hit some shoulders... I changed my split to:
Day 1: Chest
Day 2: Legs
Day 3. Off
Day 4: Shoulders
Day 5: Arms
Day 6: Back
Day 7: Off
Every day cardio is done though for 2 hours. Ready to knock this month out of the park!!!

Thanks man.. yeah i had a meeting last night with the company and talking to them kind of rekindled the fire under me even more... So I am definitely ready to go. I like to bounce from machine to machine for cardio.. if it wasn't for my iPad and entourage preloaded on there I would be miserable haha.

Just got back from doing some shoulders...
Over and back barbell press 60x12 70x12 80x9 70x11
Rear Delt Fly 20x 20 reps 3 sets. 15x25reps
"Six Ways" 4 sets with 10 lbs DB's
Did an hour of cardio this morning before breakfast and then did another hour after my weights.. have stuff to do tonight so knew i wouldn't have time any other time of the day.. not really a fan of doing my cardio post workout but It needed to be done.
Having some pretty good energy today though... actually getting some shit done that i need to which is nice haha.

man a shoulder routine with that only takes about 20.. 25 min absolute tops... i used to do it after chest but I want to elevate my heart rate one more time during the week so i put it on its own day... just work the muscle and get out..
i know you use John Meadows.. it is actually one of his routines he wrote an article on.. once i get some more funds i am going to go with john for my training.. love his ideas and principles.. and from what i hear his workouts can make people want to die haha.
How long have you been using his workouts for?

Very fast haha. most of my workouts take between 45-90 minutes. Thats awesome though.. the more i hear about people working with him the more excited i am to finally give it a go. And yeah i have been using his training guidelines for about 7 months.. by far the most i have progressed in the last 3 years.

Just finished up some cardio. Have to work a few hours today and then hang with some friends for the 4th. Can't hit weights today so i'll make up for it tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a safe 4th!

Last night was a rough night.. was definitely tempted seeing all my friends eating whatever and drinking whatever.. but kept my mind at the goal and hand and didn't waiver off the plan. Was able to make it home and have a pre-bed protein shake haha.
going to go to the gym in a bit and hit some back.. will post the workout when i get back.

How long does a session like that take you. It seems like the workout would be pretty quick..
