I really want to know why every athlete just parts ways with him. Smart athletes stick with what works and with who produces results. But every single person has switched. It has to be something with contracts.

Nothing against Dave, but...

Dave has Species Nutrition nutrition line, Dave has Rx Muscle, Radio, all the contest coverages etc etc, he don't even have time to post on his own Q&A thread...

Fakhri...has nothing else to do besides prep athletes

Dave can only put very minimal time in preping while Fakhri spents most of the time preping athetes

Who would you choose if you were Juan?

It always amazes me when peeps.post about how peeps feel...when they dont even.know them...its like the never ending " he seems like a great guy" post about peeps nobody knows....im sure jerry sandusky seemed.like a " great guy" to.some.......looking at the industry norms...juans move was a political move that i would " guess" he really didnt want to do...but had to play the game....

Bad decision. I'll predict that Juan will go downhill from here (no hate, just sayin'). I can already see the "excuses" when he steps on stage again:

"We did few miscalculations."
"We are not familiar with his body yet."
"We tried something new this time."

...and so on. Yes, he should have stayed with Dave. Anyway, best of luck, maybe it pays off.

Dave's got all the things he does... that other contest prep guy does only prep. Who should Juan choose... ? Well... guy who would help him get the best placings and win shows. Between that prep guy and Dave... Dave is much better choice. But as a fan I won't talk smack about Juan I wish him best and hope he does well. But I am not sure he can repeat this year (or be better) with that guy.

I won't talk shit about Fak, as he does seem to do a good job with his clients (Nick Trigili looked amazing at USAs, and in my mind could have won his class) .. sure there are times when people don't look like they should, but that can happen to anyone, Dave included...

The reason I don't really understand why Juan is changing coaches is because him and Dave seemed to have his body figured out pretty well... He turned pro and won a pro show the following year.. Along with that he also made noticeable improvements at each outing. I'm of the old philosophy "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Did Dave work with Victor Martinez for a little while...back before he won the Arnold, but placed well at the Mr O. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Personally as an competitor because I would like to learn as much as possible and changing prep coaches will help enable that. There are alot of good coaches out there and personally I would like to learn from a few of them. It is about getting better and jumping ship is not a personal thing it is about education.

Just because a guy switches prep coaches, doesn't necessarily mean bad blood. Many prep coaches are pretty set in their drug and nutrition protocols, so how will someone knows what works BEST for them if they never try anything new. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to see if they can improve more trying something new with someone else. Dave did do a ton for Juan though, so it does suck but shit happens.....

I've been with Dave at several shows where Juan has competed - when he won his pro card at the North Americans and again recently when he won his first pro show as 2 prime examples. Dave counseled him right down to the last minute and taking his calls at every hour of the night and day.

I love Juan - one of my favorite bodybuilders and an all around nice guy. I have to admit I'm a little confused by the move - in Hartford he told me personally he would never leave Dave. That being said, I only wish him the best and can't wait to see him on the Olympia stage.

...and for those wondering how many pros Dave has made - A TON. Take a look at Masters and the USA's this year alone.

I kinda agree. He should have finished the prep with Dave. Dave knows his body better than any one else. People have to always remember that it is not greener on the other side.

Most bodybuilders aren't very smart. Dorian did his own and smoked everyone. Jay Cutler for many years did his own and was #1 and #2 in the world during this whole time.
