Why do you work out?
Whatever reason you had to start, why do you do it now? Note- this will be similiar, but not exactly the same as polls I will post in the general and womens sections. I am posting multiple polls as I suspect the reasons may vary, and this way I think it will be easier to interpret the data. If you answer 'other' please specify why. Have fun!

My work requires a reasonable level of fitness. I supervise train and work with men and women half my age and need to be able to keep up.

Because I want to be the biggest M'fer in the room!
Honestly, though, for respect....not in my size but for the dedication and artistic talent it takes to achieve a beautiful, muscular body. Respect for the accomplishment. It would take a whole lot less work just to stay healthy and fit.

I started out when I was a teenager, so of course it was for girls and gaining muscle. Now, it's just to stay in shape.
I really do admire the people on here who work hard and compete though.

At a couple of months away from 66 (phew that's hard to say) I keep at it for many reasons. Mostly to keep up with the younger guys on the job. (construction). And to stay younger, and enjoy the looks on people's faces when I tell them, "No, I'm not 52". That's the best part. lol

I continue to do it because I enjoy it. Yeah, I've got all the other vanity reasons as well but if I didn't think it was still fun I'd have given it up long ago.

Started out 'cause I wanted to better at soccer, now I realised that on my level I don't need that really. But now I'm hooked on getting bigger and stronger, 'cause I want to challenge myself.

I selected all except to attract the opposite sex. I've been married too long to care about other woman.
In all honestly, working out makes life me feel great. If I am out of the gym for any period of time I get depressed.
Another reason is I am scared to death to look as old as some of the people I grew up with. I refuse to let myself look old because I didn't take care of myself!!!!
