Thanks for the props.... Of course my opinion of the "new" mag would be obvious. However, I don't think it's fair to bust on the soldiers - for the magazine, not if you think they are racist or lazy or whatever. Specifically, as far as the magazine goes, it is 100% the brain child of Steve Blechman. He and he alone decides its theme and its content. He believes that the combination of outrageous gutter talk, ghost written columns by 90's "icons," rehashed training features, and reports on "cutting edge research" (that only fit his agenda proving once again that you can find a study to prove anything), is the winning formula for a 21st century hardcore bodybuilding publication. The guys that make it so - especially Ron Harris - can't be blamed for the downfall. They are just doing their jobs - and after seeing how Dave and I were treated - are no doubt scared shitless to do anything other than agree with "the boss;" there are not a lot of jobs out there right now. I have a lot of respect for some of the guys who work at MD - especially behind the scenes who have to tolerate Blechman on a daily basis. Alan, the art director, for example, is one of the most stand-up guys I ever met. I don't think anyone there is to blame for anything having to do with the condition MD is in today. Blechman has the checkbook and it's clearly his game. "Hate the game not the playa... you've got to hate the game cuz you can't hate the playa."

There's some stuff in there that is still decent, like I said a friend of mine from work bought it and I read it.
It definitely has a different feel though, but in all reality most BB magazines really suck so MD is probably still the best one to put out a paper mag. I still think that RX is better overall but as far as a paper mag (aka something to read while I am in the bathroom and when I'm at work without access to a comp)MD, as bad as it is, is still probably the best out of all of them.

Word up John. All respect to those guys, especially Doz or Ron. I don't know how Ron manages to write 3/4 of a magazine every month, but he does. Blechman's the one pulling the strings.
The truth is, though, that Dave and John were pulling MD down.
With such shoddy work like same day contest results and pics, the 500-word essay contest, a radio show with sponsors, and a mad popular Q & A thread from Dave, you should have expected to be fired

ROFL - well - I can't hate on MD - but with the way they handled a recent situation with a friend of mine over there - I can't say I like their policies. The way RX handled it was with utmost fairness and class... that, to me, speaks volumes... especially when I have no allegiance to either forum or magazine.
Either way - I like the atmosphere over here - and am looking forward to being a part of RX...
