Dumbest things you've seen people do in your gym
We all have this clueless fools in our gyms, trying or doing the most ridiculous things that almost defy believe. What are some of the most stupid things you've seen people do in your gym?
One such story is that I was repping with 150kg (350 pounds?) on the bench for 2-3 reps max. Behind me was a fairly big kid peering at me. As I finished, I was about to take the weights off when he came to me and said he wanted to have a go with the same weight I just benched. I shot one look at his body and told him he was insane trying this. He said he had been training for a year (it looked like his first day in the gym) and was up to it. I said fine, left the weights and walked to the changing room to have a shake. All of a sudden I heard a commotion outside in the reception, walked out and saw people running up the the weights area. This idiot has only gone and got an equally brained moron to spot him, lifted the weight and apparently it crashed down so hard on him that the spotter holding the bar, flew over the bench and landed on the floor, busting his nose and upper lip wide open. The kid ended up with a cracked sternum, 3 broken ribs and a week in hospital. If you ask me, he was lucky he didn't die.
Another thing I saw was an old man come into the gym, pick up two 15kg weights and started violently swinging it back and forth with his arms to what I could only deduct, was to warm up his rotator cuffs. All of a sudden, one of the weights slipped from his hand, flew forwards and smashed the mirror he was standing infront to a million pieces. He was even embarrassed.

Mine would have to be a girl who stood on the outer sides of the treadmill and turned it on. I guess she figured she had to start it at a running pace before she jumped on. Well anyway, she jumped on the treadmill when it was already going and wasn't running fast enough. She was holding onto the handles and basically shooting off of the back. It was pretty funny shit.

Some guy in my gym thought he would be clever running backwards on the treadmill, until he fell on his ass and was propelled into the rowing machines.

Years ago when I was Powerlifting, my training partner and I after squatting loaded up the leg press. When we were done with the leg press this clown comes into the gym, straight from the beach;bathing suit on tank top and flip flops. We just started to un load the leg press and he tells us to leave the weights on, which we did. We walked away to another area of the gym, with out even warming up or anything, clown man gets into the leg press and proceeds to get buried. We had to run over and help him from his thighs being pushed thru his ass.

Personal Trainers that workout at my gym like to yell and scream at each other all the way across the gym to draw attention to themselves. They also think it is cool to sing aloud whatever homo music they are listening to in their ipod. I hate these ass clowns.

the trainers at my gym are the dumb/ill informed. One trainer was having a client do lat pull downs, the lady pulled the weight to the point where a rational person would stop, then the trainer "corrected" her by having her pull the bar to her belly button. I was extremely irritated by the ignorance, I mean this person is supposed to be informed enough to help you workout correctly.
the other one I saw was on the same lat pull down machine, the client was arching her back and the trainer told her not to, she actually told the client to crunch forward.
Is it okay to tell a trainer how to train?

I always love the classic guy who comes in throws a bunch of weight on the bar to bench, lowers the bar maybe 2 inches and then racks the bar.... baffles me.
