Robinson started as a lightweight, and did have several fights at the welterweight/jr. middleweight division - at least the first 9 years. After 1949, he pretty much stayed at middleweight and fought there the next 16 years - incredible!!! Amongst the exceptions being he moving up to middleweight to challenge (and beat Jake Lamotta in 1942, 1943 and in 1945)

Predictions for tonight? I'd go with Khan TKO 8.
I guess RJJ will win too tonight, I don't really care though, as long as he isn't hurt. That's all that matters at this point. Dream scenario is he wins, and retires. But I'm pretty sure that's not what's going to happen...Last edited by tp_88; 12-10-2011 at 11:56 AM.

Khan UD....Peterson is a pretty durable guy. only one loss to bradley in a fight where he fought back most of the fight. Draw with ortiz in a close fight. Never been stopped. Although Kahn is the best opposition he has.will face up until this point, i dont think khan will stop him (but wouldnt be surprised if he does as well).
I hope he wins and retires....but as long as someone offers him money, he will continue to fight.

He was pretty badly hurt by Ortiz, if he comes to fight I think he gets stopped. If he moves, boxes and take few risks, I say Khan by UD.
My money is on Khan by stoppage this week, so I guess it won't happen.

Peterson landed some huge bombs towards the end.

Yeah, he came back strong. But Khan is definitely better then Ortiz IMO, and I feel that Peterson will fight when he gets hit, even if starts out moving and boxing. Oh well, we'll see what happens. Going to grab a little sleep now before the fight.

Wow, that was a great fight. My bets have been so off lately though, if Ward doesn't decision Froch I'm done betting on boxing for a while atleast. :P
Lamont looked really strong and good tonight, while Khan wasn't at his best. What makes him so exciting is what also makes him vulnerable, he has to learn to stick to the game plan even if he gets hit a couple of times, and not go all crazy and not use his reach, speed etc.
Those point deductions was kind of lame, can you imagine if that guy had been the referee for Mayweather's fights? He uses his forearm quite alot.
I don't agree with the decision, I had Khan winning a close fight. I thought Harold's card was good, 113-112 Khan. Lamont seems like a good guy, with a nice back story but I did see Al Haymon in the ring, is Lamont with him? If he is, then I understand why they deducted 2 points.Last edited by tp_88; 12-11-2011 at 03:58 AM.

Again, I havnt seen the fight, but from what ive read....khan got deducted 2 points for Minor offenses...without warnings....which is pretty inacceptable. If you commit and offence you should be warned first and then penalized....
I knew peterson was going to givehim a good fight, dude is a durable fighter....looking at punchstats, Khan threw and landed more but peterson landed a shitload of powershots....i gotta watch a replay.
Sounds like a close fight, and as much as i hate to say it, this is what happens when you fight in someones hometown....time and time again, if you dont score a KO and leave it up to the judges, chances are you are going to get a L.......

He was warned, but no hard warning like "next time I'll take a point away".
Both points were deducted for pushing, never seen two points being taken away for that before.
Had there been no points deducted, Khan would've won a UD.

Saw the fight yesterday.
Even with the point deductions, at WORST, this should have been a draw. In the rounds where the points were deducted, I still had Khan winning those rounds - particularly the 12th round.
I think Lamont got some home cookin' there.

Froch vs Ward This saturday. Super Six FINAL (FINALLY after 2 years of botched planning) i think in theory this tourney was awesome....hopefully BUTE will get the winner.
Froch is good, and has gotten better. But he doesnt have the skills to compete with ward.....ward is going to take him to school.....better fundamentals, way faster, better footwork (froch's worst attribute). Ward lacks KO power, but he will outpoint froch and may possibly even pitch a shutout...froch likes to hold his hands low and act like a slickster but he isnt fast enough to pull it off.....if johnson was able to connect on him what do you think andre ward will do?....Ward by UD.

Yep, Ward by UD is my pick too, in a rough fight where Froch will win rounds. 116-112 maybe?
Really looking forward to it!
