While there are some obvious counter-points to some of the things he said, I also cannot disagree that people are different and just one approach won't be best for everyone.

I don't think this is a bash, either. I remember the thread in question where Dave, Steve, John, & Eric were debating. I also remember that Dave wrote some stuff about Eric in his column, first. It wasn't bashing, either. Just a difference in opinion and theory on carbs.

I agree, it was not a "bashing".

Layne suggests that an individual to try each different theroy and find out which one is best for you. He did say that Dave does suggest his diet to everyone, but I also believe that if you truly believe in something as Dave does Keto, your beliefs become absolute.

Persoanlly, I know Keto works for me. I was 200 lbs on Jan 18.09, as of this morning, May1/09 I weigh 160 and I am in the best shape of my life. My first bodybuilding contest is 5 weeks from today, the Northern Classic in Fort St. John BC.

That's how I read it too. Some like Keto and some like Carb cycling. I think a combination would be interesting to track. Start with Carb cycling and right towards the end go Keto.

I think it makes more sense the other way around....go carb cycling towards the end when you're more sensitive to insulin and so you can fill out better when you're leaner. Keto first to build strong adaptation to the diet so the carb cycling or timed keto diet at the end is more effective. Keto at the end is more likely to leave you flatter come show time than a more timed keto diet with more volume work.

Good point, anyway some sort of combination would be interesting to try as the body is always fighting for homeostasis.

I stand behind Dave, but at the same to each his own...

different things work better for different people, yes your body needs carbs, but on the third episode of HMR, Dr. Scott Conelly, amongst the almost uncomprehensible lines of scientific info (not bashing, he's just very intellegent, and im a meathead of sorts), states that if your diet is right (keto-carb diet), your body can synthesis the carbs that your body needs from other substances...

honeslty i think broser is a terrible nutritionist and have never seen him get anyone shredded..

hell he cant even get into shape himself..

and if he developed such a great training system..

why hasnt the guy learned how to train legs?

Believe me,it's harder for a nutritionist to see changes and do what it's best for himself than do it on another person, you don't see the easiest things on yourself as you would see on other people.

For me keto would not work, but everyone is different and i have no doubt it would work great on others,it's just childish saying "this don't work"
