Announcing Next Year as Your "Pro Card Year"?
What do you think about a top NPC competitor saying, "Next year, I will get my pro card," or "This next year will be my pro card year"? It is advisable? Could it be held against the competitor by judges, the NPC, or fellow competitors? Just wondering what others think about this.

People just need to shut the effff up and do their work, if they are worthy of a pro card they will get one. You just look like an idiot if you're talking pro card and then get your ass handed to you on stage after talking all that shit.
This reminds me of these teens, Justin and Ed talking all this shit during prep for teen nationals on facebook and how they are going to win the show and be in the overall posedown, and that they will bring nasty conditioning and shock everybody, and guess what?? they showed up on stage looking like chicken shits and got last and second to last place..they got SMOKED!!! talk is cheap..bad boys move in silence, work your ass off & be quiet.Last edited by jkanevskiy; 09-27-2012 at 01:48 AM.

I don't pay it much heed. People doing work are doing work... not talking. Maybe they are trying to convince themselves or maybe they aren't getting enough props at the boys and girls club... I dunno. But if it is "your pro card year" usually there are a lot of people talking about it.

I'm not recognized or even can compete in here only in local shows , most of them or lets say all of them even if i win first place i wont get recognized , i really wish if i lived in US or even EU , many shows u have guys best gyms and best weather for bodybuilding
nothing wrong with being self motivated oh i'll be pro this year oh i can do it but lets be real , if u are looking for a pro card and want to be best , work hard on yourself be dedicated and try to kill your weak points .. thats my mentality cuz i really want to do something in bodybuilding one day

Thanks Matty , yeah avi is from 4 days ago after i finished my cut (contest cut) but no contest lol
i left Iraq when i was 14 years old , living in UAE/Dubai , here the total of shows maybe 6 or 7 a year but even if you compete here it's like going no where , just putting more money/effort
if i want to be in national team or recognized by my country Iraq = thats a big joke it self cuz gotta do alot of stuff and things just be lucky to get inside with them .. so i just said to hell with it , i'm gonna do my best every year till something happens or might move outside or try to find a show where i can compete using my name only not nationality or something

A lot of Arabic bodybuilders are now living & competing in other countries. Perhaps that would work for you too?

i think its fine to say you are gunning for your pro card, hell most people are. but stating that next year is YOUR year is pretty annoying. If people worked as hard in the gym as they do with posting their gyms shots on facebook, twitter, and instagram, then MAYBE they would EARN their card.
and while im at it, i cant stand the god damn food pics all day long.... no one cares about your stupid chicken and veggies.... we all eat that shit, no one needs to see every meal you eat!!!!It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.

Thanks for the input, you guys. A friend of mine just did this (I won't say where), & I was taken aback by it & fear it will hurt him. But I don't feel like it's my place to say anything to him, esp. when he hasn't asked me for my opinion.

it won't hurt him, it just makes him look like a douche bag to the people on the boards.
Jillian-you said everything alot of us would like to say.
most people compete to win, but to actually say you're GOING to win, unless you're psychic, is like saying i'm gonna win the lottery. you might win , but you might not. have some humility and show what you've got on stage. thats the only time any of it matters anyway.

Are you talking about Max Charles and his post on Facebook? I had no problem with him saying that. He said it to pump himself up. He had a back year this year. Why not look forward to it and call next year his year?
