I watched all the videos. I don't see any of the problems between kai and glass you guys are talking about. I just see a new trainer trying to get his methods across to a new trainee and I think Kai took the instructions well. Kai was very complimentary to Charles in his voice over. He even said "Charles is a master at changing angles on you".
I don't see any controversy at all.Last edited by cgp10; 02-14-2009 at 02:50 PM.

It does just look like new trainer/new trainee (with a little Blechman 'say this' magic thrown in). Plus both of them on there own are very different. Only thing that seems more akward was them talking at the end...seemed like 50% of it was scripted. Besides that, its cool to see him wanting to be so open about how he looks so close to a competition.

I think a lot of Gurus are exaggerated. IMO, everyone needs to just train themselves like they did back in the day and through the 90s; look how amazing they all looked. Not to mention a guru doesn't know your body. How many times have you seen these supposed experts take a phenomenal athlete and fuck them up for a contest and then say, "Well, I didn't know his body but I know it now and it's on!" Dave P, Layne Norton, Brosers, and a few others are the exceptional to the rule.
I'm sure some good ideas and concepts can be gleaned from the likes of Glass, Sarcev, Nichols, Rambod (FST-7). However, a lot of their shit is so controversial it almost looks like they're doing it just to be different and have everyone go, "Isn't that crazy ? I gotta try that shit."

Gurus help keep you on track, help your form and exercise methods, and see things you couldn't possibly see because of their objective view.

Fist of all, I dont know why he would just be starting with charles 4 weeks out. Second, of course he was complimentary in the voice overs, He would be a total dick if he dissed glass's methods in public. Its also called " paying attention to word choces". If you listened there are some exercise kai says he likes to do in other ways. Youre pretty much the only one who doesnt see a little frustration.

I think Kai is thankful to be working with Charles. He's not use to his methods and he is adjusting to them. Not only that but he is getting use to Charles as a person, all these things take time. By the look of things it seems that his methods are working. BTW anyone see the last Vid on Feb 12th at the end where Kai's on the hammer strength and that old guy comes in and snatches up his jacket?

Kai does admit that he's doing some things a little different. Its all new stuff to him, i wouldnt say he's struggling, its just a little change and he is workin hard. He says that he trust's Charles wisdom and we'll only know if Charles was any good to him when he's on stage. I believe he'll come in ready to go.

That ketosis comment was silly and completely incorrect. A ketogenic state is reached upon depriving the body of dietary carbohydrates for between 3-5 days, not a calorie depleted workout.

Classic, towards the end of part 1 for back episode this old man grabs Kai jacket in the middle of his set and gives it to Paul while he is trying to spot Kai. Some people just don't get it I guess.

Lets be real, all the guys in the IFBB can get massive by themselves. They are all genetic freaks. The point of having a trainer is to get an upper hand on the guys that possess the same ability as you. There is more needed to win at that level then just mass and thats why kai brought in Charles.

BASICALLY!!!!!
You guys are reading a little too much into this. Kai's quads are probably killing him in that squat vid and he looks like he's sucking it up so he doesn't just puss out. Kai might've felt he could have done MORE in regards to his shoulders that day, but Charles has this weird ability to look at someone's physique and pinpoint exactly what is needed, and how much. That's where you trust a bit in the trainer's wisdom...and when that trainer is Charles Glass...hey, dude, who the fuck are you to argue? LOL
