ok in this video jimmys suppose to be benching some poundages. i really dont want this to look like im a hater or am disrespecting him. but what is this. i doesnt look like any benching i've ever seen. to me it looks like a partial close grip bench. i understand u have to be strong to even hold the weight. but for me i cant call that a bench press. what do u guys think?

Jimmy has said that he never touches his chest. He also said that he is moving the weight and that is what people want to see, so he is not trying to use "proper form"; he is simply just there for a show. He is known for moving some ridiculous poundages, not for doing perfect form.

Call it whatever you want. It takes some serious balls to hold that kind of weight over your face.
I call it gutsy and impressive.

Jimmy's lift was as terrible as the music was. But like stated above, takes a lot of strength to do that.

It looked to as if it was short extension guillotine press. Not a regular bench press. Looked just fine to me. Doing short controlled reps like that is fine but you can risk damage to your elbows if sustained for too long. I am impressed with his stamina and willingness to lift.

Kevin is working out (with a little show for the camera), Jimmy is doing a clinic. When 99% of the people in the crowd HAVE NEVER WORKED OUT they want to see poundage gettting moved, not 'the perfect ROM'. Plus whatever he is doing for partials, he could easily almost get half doing full reps. Thats strong as hell IMO.
In the words of Ronnie, "apples and oranges."
