just getting ready for awards and the trophy presentation. huge autograph signing afterwards as well.
our winner : travis ortmayer defends his crown. first american to win all 3 major strongman events; all american nationals, amateur nationals and american strongest man.
taking second in the overall and securing an invite to the worlds strongest man in north carolina next month.
taking third in his pro debut is michael burke. terrific placings in a few key events elevated him above a few of his more experienced bretheren.
fourth is vincent urbank. with some impressive displays of strength, this guy is one of americas strongmen to watch.

Rob, thanks for the confidence, but I was not hurt at all. Not sure what happened on the kegs but the first 4 flew and then the 5th I just had no pop left. On my second or third attempt on the 5th keg it landed on the other side of the mat about 20 or more feet away and with little time and being exhausted i said fuck it. Don't know what to say about the push pull medley. I expected to be top 5 in that event and was hitting all the weights with ease in training but it just wasn't in the cards today. I'm confident I could have done the 5th stone but my tacky was covered in dirt by that time(being first person on stones sucks for this reason), and it was just sliding right out of my hands. Overall you have good days and bad days, and this contest fell on two bad days. Time to regroup, forget about this show, and move on

I must also point out that it is good to see this thread has almost as many views as the jacksonville Pro Show and has far more posts!

I had an entire wrap up post written and it didnt load onto the forums... sorry guys.
yes, by virtue of second place, because travis had his invite, dave gets the nod for WSM next month.
travis is headed next week for russia in a russia vs USA event. another in the ukraine the week after.
americas strongest woman is the following week and then a short respite for most of these guys before the olympia. remember, WSM qualifying is the week before the olympia followed by the boneheads at WSM having the finals on the same weekend as the finals.
sally and I will be at the olympia covering the next ASC event as well as the pound for pound challenge. hopefully I will have a special guest commentator with me as well.
I noticed we have outpaced dave and company and their coverage in jacksonville. makes me very very happy.
