Natural?
I was wondering what is considered 'natural'? What about stuff like ephedrine or clen... i know they are drugs but they're not like steroids...
or what about prohormons?
Where's the line?

how about NOT answering at all if you don't feel like giving a normal answer?!
i mean in regards to competitive bodybuilding.... do they get tested for that stuff as well?! (ephedra AND ephedrine?)
couldn't caffeine also be considered as 'performance-enhancing'...?!

Check with the federation you want to compete with. They are not all universal. Some have strict rules and some just say there going to drug test and dont.

Many of organizations have a list of things that arent allowed. Even though they are banned, many of these substances arent tested for

no, i don't want to compete at all. i was just wondering where the line is in general.... for example if a natural competitor would be allowed to use a fatburner that contains stuff like ephedra.
i've seen pictures of natural competitors and i think it's pretty crazy how shredded they get (like 4-5% BF?! or something like that?... i have no clue)
just being curious =)
haha =P

if you dont want to compete than go by your definition of natural. every federation is different but if youre not competing that all you have to worry about is you.

Would meditation be considered performance enhancing if it helps you eat better and train harder? What about meat and veggies with pesticides and growth hormone?
My point is if it isn't a DRUG, you should be alright.

You can buy ephedrine at Wal-Mart or any pharmacy. If you are using OTC products, then I think that you are considered "natural", but I prefer FDA approved lol.

but just remember.. just because its OTC doesnt mean its safe. theres stuff you can buy/use thats worse on the body than stuff thats illegal. legal doesnt = safe!

WOW - there are lots of definitions from the extreme -
Only eating natural foods --- no protein powder or aminos
to
No strong OTCs like cortisol blockers and estrogen blockers and test boosters
to
of course, ILLEGAL Drugs like "T" and such
So the advice given above ----> Untested shows bring in anything, tested clubs have policies on their web sites, and test for some but sometimes give lie detector tests or urine tests, and some really dont test or test only top placing folks.
The bottom line - dont be a trophy hunter and dont endanger your life - this is supposed to be for your health, so though there are ways around it (life isnt fair - no guarentees), be the best you can be - "naturally" for what you feel is best for you - then go to shows that fit is. I think most of the natural shows can be breached ----- but then there is always the natural that has naturally high T ----- so the answer is based on the definition you choose to follow IMO
