Sometimes a break does the body good. Just dont get lazy and take too long of a break.

Hmmm...how long have you been training that you’re taking a week off? The gyms here have only been open for 3 weeks. I thought the NY gyms were still closed.

Sounds like you’re definitely ready for a break, PfA.
I guess I’m a weirdo. I have always hated taking breaks of more than a few days and they never really seem to do me the good they do everyone else. I do better mentally and physically just switching up the routine, maybe backing off on intensity and adding in a new exercise or two, but still puttering and keeping to some sort of a movement routine.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Not what I’m saying at all, COG. For my own body I have found the worst thing I can do is conplete rest for an entire week.
I’m not arguing the benefit for normally healthy people to take time off. And I’m certainly not saying go all-out all the tine. However, in my case with severe osteoarthritis, nerve damage, and scoliosis, I’ve found over the years that the absolute WORST thing I could do is not resistance train for an entire week. Each and every time I have tried that approach it has ended in disaster. Two consecutive days is my upper limit and even that is too much.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month
