I recall Lada had a lot of luck training around that back injury with the help of some well placed kinesio tape. Is that legal in GPC? If so that would be super.

Yup tapes are very cheap and it worked nicely, I am not sure if you can have them during the meet, but from that time I had seen people using them during their training periods... also you have two types of tape - one harder, used during training, than put down, one softer, you wear several days (I had two therapies - 14 days on, 3 weeks of and again...)

Gpc allows tape if checked by the head ref before the competition. If it helps the lift itself they will say no, but if it helps hold something like mid back, that's normally fine.

Well funny you should ask because even though it's technically a foot fracture, I've been having a lot of neuro issues radiating into ankle. Thank you for asking
The foot fracture was a complete flip of the lateral side up/ underside (5th metatarsal) on left, very crushing/pinching to nerves in that area so…I actually go back to ortho today and will be addressing the burning, tingling pains, and then these weird, stubby, needle-like pokes that happen out of nowhere while bearing my own weight, as well as residual ache that run across foot. Good news is I'm able to bear weight more and more, limp is reduced greatly, I can move around the house but within an hour or so need to rest it. Funny, ortho said try a sneaker for a few hours around the house yesterday before coming in today for re-eval. (Not so good.) It'll be a process I think.
Gotta love the money saving doc's of worker's comp.Last edited by baby muscle; 09-30-2015 at 08:26 AM.

My spidey sense tells me walking around barefoot would be a thousand times better for rehabbing an injury than contorting a foot into a sneaker. But what do I know?

Anything that involves foot pain makes me cringe and I am getting sympathy pains shooting up my foot reading this ... yikes! I was going to suggest if you have any decent open sandals or flipflops w/ a good stable arch support and solid bottom to give the foot a little structure w/o the pressure of a whole shoe?
Otherwise, just patience and "walk softly" (you can carry a big stick if you want too!) Foot pain is the worst - both because your mobility is so dependent upon it as well as the myriad nerves and moving parts that make it up.

OK don't laugh but my first thought was birkinstocks when I read your comment, which I'm not exactly opposed to but, I hate buying things I'll have to persuade myself to wear. Which my bf will find comical because I have SO many shoes and don't wear them all.
I've been doing a "water sandal" for heel strike protection.
Saw worker's comp othro again today and go back in 4 weeks for yet another eval. Fracture is almost indiscernible on x-ray now, which is great but obviously discomfort/ burning/tingling is whole other deal. I'm also trying to slowly get my muscle back in lower left leg, so gotta transition out of boot too, doctors orders. He said a few hours a day, which i'm happy about but I'm also realistic. It's gonna be a painful, uncomfortable week and good thing I'm a lifetime lifter….so I can deal with uncomfortable.Last edited by baby muscle; 09-30-2015 at 05:05 PM.
