Question Is Sergi Constance Now the Top Fitness Model?

I mean, now that Greg Plitt is gone.

I'm sure that the Brand X-backed Mr. Intensity will not concur with this assessment.

    Oh, it's fitness.

I was wondering why an IFBB pro was that small.

Miami resident Sergi has been a top model since before he won that overall at NPC Southern States in Ft. Lauderdale. Great looking dude.

Dude is way too good looking and fit to ever amount to anything (said no one ever) j/k.
How we assess who the "top model" is or isn't is rather problematic if we don't know who the top earners are as with runway modeling and acting. Guys like Sergi lay back and can laugh at others claiming to be the top model, etc as with the Michelle Lewin's of the world.

Greg had that all-American vibe going that Sergi will never have, & the beard will probably scare the teenage girls away. But Sergi is certainly one of the top guys right now, & his English is perfectly good, as shown here, so he may go bigger.

I would be more interested if he was getting into entertainment. I never looked at bodybuilding like a beauty contest...so how cute he is usually isn't what drives me to follow this craft anyway.

Bodybuilding when I was growing up meant becoming an animal in a gym filled with other big animals.

Now, is it just about cuteness and abs?

I totally agree. While I respect these guys and realize that they must get an enormous amount of pussy looking the way they do, I started writing in this industry for bodybuilding. I took a job at FitnessR(Brand)X for Men because money talks and went with the celebrity angle to change from the cardboard cutout white teeth/six-pack guys that made the magazine the best kept secret in the industry for a decade.

Then towards the end of my tenure (which was also the main cause for my termination), Professor X wanted me to join him in his Delorean and return to his "1955" with male fitness models adorning the covers and interior pages, once again relegating the title to the end of the publication bench and total obscurity after much exposure on national television.

For what it's worth, my testosterone levels have climbed back up since I am not exposed to that on a daily basis.

Do you think generally the bodybuilder or physique guy is more likely to get into "entertainment" to use your word? I share casting calls with people in the "community" here in the Southeast as there are quite a few productions casting in Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, New Orleans, Wilmington prior to the governor ending the industries tax cut. Amongst the lot of bodybuilding, fitness, figure, bikini & physique competitors with potential to model and act I don't see bodybuilders as having the edge in the entertainment business.

For Dwayne Johnsons most recent open casting in Miami (HBO's Ballers) it was an NPC bikini gal in my network that got the call back.

I think the physique guy is also too big for much of Hollywood. Otherwise there would be way more people the size of the Rock in movies.

All I mean is that the drive and motivation in bodybuilding used to involve training in a dungeon in order to become King Kong.

Now, it looks like it is about training using the Internet guru of the month as your holy leader in an effort to make those skinny jeans look amazing...

I disagree that the sky is falling. There are still guys that want to train in dungeons. There is one near me actually. Much like powerlifting though its a very small not highly publicized part of the whole. In a free society too why would we want it any other way? The guy that stays covered up all the time and simply trains and isn't trying to be entertaining on camera (Shawn Rhoden, etc) is then criticized for it by the same people claiming the focus should be more "hardcore".

Saw an article being spread around today by a former Rx'r claiming social media is causing great havoc in the industry and essentially pushing a doom and gloom sort of end that only the top guys are going to make anything of themselves and everyone else will suffer in today's insta-economics. Yet, in fact the democratization of social media has leveled the playing field and diminished the authority of the media gatekeepers to where they as middlemen are being eliminated. Do we really need anyone to tell us who looks and is best? Not anymore.

Depends on how much mainstream acceptance you want. It comes down to this: do you want to be in a niche industry that has its own monstas, or welcomed into the mainstream which can't take 'em?

Gee, so do I. That is why I don't see why anyone is really pushing "physique". I actually see way more younger guys going for more size lately than what was seen like 5 years ago. Crossfit doesn't rule the world anymore...

    So why get behind "cuteness"?

    Cute Magazine?
    Hunk Monthly?

Uh, yeah, I guess they forgot everyone isn't gay.
