Whether or not you like The Shadow’s physique, few can deny his hardcore work ethic or the fact that he pushed muscle mass to a new level. With no weak bodyparts, and the best calves and back onstage, Yates was such a dominant force that the Olympia was largely considered his for as long as he wanted it. A series of muscle tears (and the lack of anything left to prove) led to his retirement.

With six consecutive Olympia victories (1992-97) and fifteen IFBB pro wins to his credit, many speculate that the Great Lee Haney may have even retired in order to avoid a rematch with the fast-rising Brit (the only man able to match him on back poses).

Most impressively, Yates stepped onstage each year showing progressive size increases, his Blood-and-Guts training paying off big dividends. His combination of thickness and grainy conditioning has not been surpassed. No one can dispute his rise to the Megalympia Final Four!

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

The Governator the undisputed ruler of his era of bodybuilding — to the extent that the Mr. Olympia title would not be held in such high esteem had he not been its seven-time winner. With his only real onstage competition coming from Oliva, most of his victories became a heated battle for second place.

In additon to his seven Olympias (1970-75 and the controversial 1980 comeback), Schwarzenegger also has won two Mr. Europes, the NABBA Universe, three Pro Universes, an AAU Pro Mr. World and IFBB Mr. International. In other words, he pretty much cleaned house in every physique contest available.

More than any lifter in history, Arnold is known for being the primary inspiration for many bodybuilders. His mental approach, which involved extreme mental focus, positive attitude and visualization were considered crucial to his success, both on the posing dias and as a film star and political leader.

Yates wins. Back and legs are just much, much better than Arnold's were , even for their particular eras of dominance.

Both guys won shows they shouldnt have, because of who they were. This kind of thinking went on when they were competing.

Ill repeat what ive said b4 too. Noone has the genetics of coleman and if we were judging purely on physique, ronnie would win and the whole comp would be a waste of time, factoring in era (what year and who they competed against) where they came from, what type of physique appeals to the person voting and what the bb'er did for the sport sounds like a legemit reason to vote for someone in this comp..
