There are different types of fasting and they're all good depending on your goal.

My goal is to be healthy more than to be fit. I know they kind of go hand in hand but I want to focus on my health.

Fasting is a huge YES! The duration all depends on goals. We are an over-fed society. If you want to live a long life, eating around the clock year round for decades won’t get you there.

Well, fasting speeds up recovery after a surgery as what some med sites claim.

Daily fasting is an effective tool to reduce weight and lower blood pressure, but longer fast periods increase your risk of problems associated with fasting.

Just as long as you don't get dehydrated.
